May 29th, 2022– Sunday after Ascension – Seventh Sunday of Easter

Sing to the Lord, who ascends to heaven in the east, hallelujah.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of theHoly Spirit.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,

and the love of God,

and the communion of the Holy Spirit

be with you all.

And with your spirit.

Brethren (brothers and sisters), let us acknowledgeour sins,

and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacredmysteries.

I confess to almighty God

and to you, my brothers and sisters,

that I have greatly sinned,

in my thoughts and in my words,

in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,

[All strike their breast]

through my fault, through my fault,

through my most grievous fault;

therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,

all the Angels and Saints,

and you, my brothers and sisters,

to pray for me to the Lord our God.

May almighty God have mercy on us,

forgive us our sins,

and bring us to everlasting life.

Glory to God in the highest, and peace to his peopleon earth.

Lord God, heavenly King, almighty God and Father, weworship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory.

Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God,Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world, have mercy on us; you areseated at the right hand of the Father, receive our prayer.

For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are theLord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in theglory of God the Father. Amen.

Let us pray.

Withthe word of your Gospel you teach your Church, O God, to taste the sublime andeternal realities to which the Savior of the world has ascended today; let uscontemplate the glory of the risen Christ in the understanding of faith so thaton his return we can attain the hoped-for riches. Through our Lord JesusChrist, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the HolySpirit, one God, for ever and ever.

A reading of the Acts ofthe Apostles (7:48-57)

In those days, Stephen said: «The Most Highdoes not dwell in houses made by human hands. As the prophet says: 'The heavensare my throne, the earth is my footstool. What kind of house can you build forme? says the Lord, or what is to be my resting place? Did not my hand make allthese things?' You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, youalways oppose the holy Spirit; you are just like your ancestors. Which of theprophets did your ancestors not persecute? They put to death those who foretoldthe coming of the righteous one, whose betrayers and murderers you have nowbecome. You received the law as transmitted by angels, but you did not observeit.» When they heard this, they were infuriated, and they ground their teeth athim. But he, filled with the holy Spirit, looked up intently to heaven and sawthe glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and he said,«Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right handof God.» But they cried out in a loud voice, covered their ears, and rushedupon him together.

The Word of God.

Thanks be to God.

Psalm 26

R. In the Lord's house we will gaze on hisface.

The Lord is my light andmy salvation;

whom should I fear?

The Lord is my life’srefuge;

of whom should I beafraid? R.

One thing I ask of theLord;

this I seek:

To dwell in the Lord’shouse

all the days of my life,

To gaze on the Lord’sbeauty,

to visit his temple. R.

Hear my voice, Lord,when I call;

have mercy on me andanswer me.

«Come,» says my heart,

«seek his face;»

your face, Lord, do Iseek!

Do not hide your facefrom me. R.

The letter of saint Paul to the Ephesians(1:17-23)

Brothers: The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation resultingin knowledge of him. May the eyes of [your] hearts be enlightened, that you mayknow what is the hope that belongs to his call, what are the riches of glory inhis inheritance among the holy ones, and what is the surpassing greatness ofhis power for us who believe, in accord with the exercise of his great might, which he worked in Christ, raising him from the dead and seating him at hisright hand in the heavens, far above every principality, authority, power, anddominion, and every name that is named not only in this age but also in the oneto come. And he put all things beneath his feet and gave him as head over allthings to the church, which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills allthings in every way.

The Word of God.

Thanks be to God.

They may all be one,

says the Lord,

and the world maybelieve that you sent me.

The Lord be with you

And also with you

A reading of the holygospel according to John (17:1b.20-26)

Glory to you, Lord.

In that time, The Lord Jesus raised his eyesto heaven and said: «I pray not only for them, but also for those who willbelieve in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believethat you sent me. And I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they maybe one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may be brought toperfection as one, that the world may know that you sent me, and that you lovedthem even as you loved me. Father, they are your gift to me. I wish that whereI am they also may be with me, that they may see my glory that you gave me,because you loved me before the foundation of the world. Righteous Father, theworld also does not know you, but I know you, and they know that you sent me. Imade known to them your name and I will make it known, that the love with whichyou loved me may be in them and I in them.»

The word of the Lord.

Praise to you, LordJesus Christ.

I go up to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God, andI will send you the Holy Spirit, hallelujah, hallelujah.

Blessed be God forever.

Blessed are you, LordGod of all creation,

for through yourgoodness we have received

this wine we offer you:

fruit of the vine and work of human hands,

I believe in one God,

the Father almighty,

maker of heaven andearth,

of all things visibleand invisible.

I believe in one LordJesus Christ,

the Only begotten Son ofGod,

born of the Fatherbefore all ages.

God from God, Light fromLight,

true God from true God,

begotten, not made,consubstantial with the Father;

through him all thingswere made.

For us men and for oursalvation

he came down fromheaven,

and by the Holy Spiritwas incarnate of the Virgin Mary,

and became man.

For our sake he wascrucified under Pontius Pilate;

he suffered death andwas buried,

and rose again on thethird day

in accordance with theScriptures.

He ascended into heaven

and is seated at theright hand of the Father.

He will come again inglory

to judge the living andthe dead

and his kingdom willhave no end.

We believe in the HolySpirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

who proceeds from theFather and the Son,

with the Father and theSon is adored and glorified.

who has spoken throughthe prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

I confess one Baptismfor the forgiveness of sins

and I look forward tothe resurrection of the dead

and the life of theworld to come. Amen.

Accept, O God, the sacrifice we offer you in the admirable ascension ofyour Son and, through this holy exchange of gifts, let our spirit rise to thejoy of the risen Lord, who lives and reigns forever and ever.

The Lord be with you.

And with your spirit.

Lift up your hearts.

We lift them up to theLord.

Let us give thanks tothe Lord our God.

It is right and just.

Itis truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,

Alwayshere and everywhere to give you thanks,

Lord, holy Father almighty and eternal God:

Becausethe Lord Jesus, the King of glory,

Triumphantover sin and death,

Hasascended to the highest heaven

Asthe angels looked on in wonder.

Christ, the Mediator between God and humankind,

Judgeof the world and Lord of the heavenly powers,

Hasnot forsaken our human lowliness,

Buthas given us the hope

Thatwe, his members, might follow him to heaven,

Wherehe, our head and our beginning, has gone before us.

Andso, in the joy of this Passover,

Earthand heaven resound with gladness.

Theangels and the powers of all creation

Singthe ageless hymn of your glory:

Holy, holy, holy, LordGod of hosts.

Heaven and earth arefull of your glory.

Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comesin the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest.

You are indeed Holy, OLord,

The fount of all holiness.

Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,

by sending down yourSpirit upon them like the dewfall,

so that they may becomefor us

the Body and Blood ofour Lord Jesus Christ.

At the time he wasbetrayed

And entered willinglyinto his Passion,

he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it,

and gave it to hisdisciples, saying:

Takethis, all of you, and eat of it,

Forthis is my Body,

Whichwill be given up for you.

In a similar way, whensupper was ended,

he took the chalice

and, once more givingthanks,

he gave it to hisdisciples, saying:

Takethis, all of you, and drink from it,

forthis is the chalice of my Blood,

theBlood of the new and eternal covenant,

Whichwill be poured out for you and for many

forthe forgiveness of sins.

Dothis in memory of me.

The mystery of faith.

We proclaim your Death,O Lord,

and profess yourResurrection

until you come again.

Therefore, as wecelebrate

the memorial of hisDeath and Resurrection,

we offer you, Lord,

the Bread of life andthe Chalice of salvation,

giving thanks that youhave held us worthy

to be in your presenceand minister to you.

Humbly we pray

that, partaking of theBody and Blood of Christ,

we may be gathered intoone by the Holy Spirit.

Remember, Lord, yourChurch,

spread throughout theworld,

and bring her to thefullness of charity,

together with Francisour Pope

and Mario our Bishop,

and all the clergy.

Remember also our brothersand sisters

who have fallen asleepin the hope of the resurrection,

and all who have died inyour mercy:

welcome them into thelight of your face.

Have mercy on us all, wepray,

that with the BlessedVirgin Mary, Mother of God,

with blessed Joseph, herSpouse

with the blessedApostles,

and all the Saints whohave pleased you throughout the ages,

we may merit to becoheirs to eternal life,

and may praise andglorify you

through your Son, JesusChrist.

Through him, and with him,and in him,

O God, almighty Father,

In the unity of the HolySpirit,

all glory and honor isyours,

For ever and ever

I am going to prepare a place for you - says the Lord. And if I goand prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me thatyou also may be where I am, hallelujah.

As the Savior’s command

and formed by divine teaching,

we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy Name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

Deliver us, Lord, wepray, from every evil,

graciously grant peacein our days,

that, by the help ofyour mercy,

we may be always freefrom sin

and safe from alldistress,

as we await the blessedhope

and the coming of ourSaviour, Jesus Christ.

For the kingdom,

the power and the gloryare yours

now and for ever.

Lord Jesus Christ,

who said to yourApostles:

Peace I leave you, mypeace I give you,

look not on our sins,

but on the faith of YourChurch,

and graciously grant herpeace and unity

in accordance with yourwill.

Who live and reign forever and ever.

The peace and communionof our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

And with your spirit.

Behold the Lamb of God,

behold him who takesaway the sins of the world.

Blessed are those calledto the supper of the Lamb.

Lord, I am not worthy

that you should enterunder my roof,

but only say the word

and my soul shall behealed.

The body of Christ

Let us pray.

In the momentum of his ascension to heaven, your Son, o God, haspowerfully drawn us too with him, freeing us from the slavery of sin; let thosewho already welcome him in faith share his glory as the risen Lord, who livesand reigns forever and ever.

The Lord be with you.

And with your spirit.

Kyrie, eleison. Kyrie,eleison. Kyrie, eleison.

May almighty God blessyou,

the Father, and the Son,and the Holy Spirit.

Go in peace.

In the name of Christ.
