in my thoughts and in my words,

in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,

[All strike their breast]

through my fault, through my fault,

through my most grievous fault;

therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,

all the Angels and Saints,

and you, my brothers and sisters,

to pray for me to the Lord our God.

May almighty God have mercy on us,

forgive us our sins,

and bring us to everlasting life.

FIRST READING

A reading of the Acts ofthe Apostles (4:32-37)

In those days, Thecommunity of believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that anyof his possessions was his own, but they had everything in common. With greatpower the apostles bore witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, andgreat favor was accorded them all. There was no needy person among them, forthose who owned property or houses would sell them, bring the proceeds of thesale, and put them at the feet of the apostles, and they were distributed toeach according to need. Thus Joseph, also named by the apostles Barnabas (whichis translated «son of encourage- ment»), a Levite, a Cypriot by birth, sold apiece of property that he owned, then brought the money and put it at the feetof the apostles.

The Word of God.

Thanks be to God.

PSALM

Psalm 132

R. Where charity istrue, the Lord lives there.

How good and howpleasant it is,

when brothers dwelltogether as one! R.

Like fine oil on thehead,

running down upon thebeard,

upon the beard of Aaron,

upon the collar of hisrobe. R.

Like dew of Hermoncoming down

upon the mountains ofZion.

There the Lord hasdecreed a blessing,

life for evermore! R.

EPISTLE

The first letter of saint Paul to theCorinthians (12:31-13:8a)

Brothers: Strive eagerlyfor the greatest spiritual gifts. But I shall show you a still more excellentway. If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am aresounding gong or a clashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy andcomprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to movemountains but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away everything I own,and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gainnothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, [love] is notpompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its owninterests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does notrejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.

The Word of God.

Thanks be to God.

Hallelujah

I give you a newcommandment,

says the Lord:

Love one another,

just as I have lovedyou.

Hallelujah

GOSPEL

The Lord be with you

And also with you

A reading of the holygospel according to John (13:31b-35)

Glory to you, Lord.

In that time, The Lord Jesus said: «Now isthe Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him. [If God is glorified inhim,] God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him at once. Mychildren, I will be with you only a little while longer. You will look for me,and as I told the Jews, 'Where I go you cannot come,' so now I say it to you. Igive you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you alsoshould love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples,if you have love for one another.»

The word of the Lord.

Praise to you, LordJesus Christ.

AFTER THE GOSPEL

Lord God, Creator of all things, terrible and strong, righteousand merciful, you who alone are good, you who give all things, gather our scatteredpeople, hallelujah.

begotten, not made,consubstantial with the Father;

through him all thingswere made.

For us men and for oursalvation

he came down fromheaven,

and by the Holy Spiritwas incarnate of the Virgin Mary,

and became man.

For our sake he wascrucified under Pontius Pilate;

he suffered death andwas buried,

He will come again inglory

to judge the living andthe dead

PRAYER OVER THE GIFTS

O God of goodness, bring to fulfillment in us the mystery ofCommunion and of life signified in this exchange of gifts and lift our soulfrom the affections of the world to the realities of heaven. Through Christ ourLord.

PREFACE

The Lord be with you.

And with your spirit.

Lift up your hearts.

We lift them up to theLord.

Let us give thanks tothe Lord our God.

It is right and just.

It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,

Always, here and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord God,

But most of all in this holy Easter season.

Now, in faith and reverence

Your Church celebrates the paschal mystery of Christ;

So that the body of those who believe

May be made one with his sufferings

And one with his resurrection to eternal life.

And so, in the joy of this Passover,

Earth and heaven resound with gladness.

The angels and the powers of all creation

Singthe ageless hymn of your glory:

Holy, holy, holy, LordGod of hosts.

Heaven and earth arefull of your glory.

Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comesin the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest.

You are indeed Holy, OLord,

The fount of allholiness.

Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,

by sending down yourSpirit upon them like the dewfall,

so that they may becomefor us

the Body and Blood ofour Lord Jesus Christ.

At the time he wasbetrayed

And entered willinglyinto his Passion,

he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it,

and gave it to hisdisciples, saying:

Takethis, all of you, and eat of it,

Forthis is my Body,

Whichwill be given up for you.

In a similar way, whensupper was ended,

he took the chalice

and, once more givingthanks,

he gave it to hisdisciples, saying:

Takethis, all of you, and drink from it,

forthis is the chalice of my Blood,

theBlood of the new and eternal covenant,

Whichwill be poured out for you and for many

forthe forgiveness of sins.

Dothis in memory of me.

The mystery of faith.

We proclaim your Death,O Lord,

and profess yourResurrection

until you come again.

Therefore, as wecelebrate

the memorial of hisDeath and Resurrection,

we offer you, Lord,

the Bread of life andthe Chalice of salvation,

giving thanks that youhave held us worthy

to be in your presenceand minister to you.

Humbly we pray

that, partaking of theBody and Blood of Christ,

we may be gathered intoone by the Holy Spirit.

Remember, Lord, yourChurch,

spread throughout theworld,

and bring her to thefullness of charity,

together with Francisour Pope

and Mario our Bishop,

and all the clergy.

Remember also ourbrothers and sisters

who have fallen asleepin the hope of the resurrection,

and all who have died inyour mercy:

welcome them into thelight of your face.

Have mercy on us all, wepray,

that with the BlessedVirgin Mary, Mother of God,

with blessed Joseph, herSpouse

with the blessedApostles,

and all the Saints whohave pleased you throughout the ages,

we may merit to becoheirs to eternal life,

and may praise andglorify you

through your Son, JesusChrist.

Through him, and with him,and in him,

O God, almighty Father,

In the unity of the HolySpirit,

all glory and honor isyours,

For ever and ever

Amen.
